MTS Health Care Academy

Welcome to MTS Health Care Academy

The Phoenix Project takes a unique approach! Students and Phoenix Project staff work together in a group to assure the success of each student. The Phoenix Project will offer an opportunity for students to experience higher education in a structured and supportive learning environment. Upon completion of the program, students will be trained for a career in the health care field.

Students expressing an interest in a health care career must meet several requirements to be eligible for the Phoenix Project. They must pass the Minnesota Basic Standards Test in Math, Reading, and Writing, and they must also pass the Community College placement exam. They need to be able to read at a ninth-grade level or higher. Students must also demonstrate their commitment to learning by fulfilling assignment requirements, participating in all offered study sessions, and maintain at least 90% attendance. Finally, after completing the first year, students will be required to mentor incoming students.

Available Training Opportunities:

  • Nursing Assistant
  • Home Health Aid
  • Acute Care Nursing Assistant
  • Patient Feeding
  • First Responder - CPR/AED & First Aid
