MTS Technology High School

Welcome to MTS Technology High School

Students gathered Data and species/ organisms from the creek for analysis and classification. With the info they gathered they will be able to monitor the "health" of the creek. They monitor water quality, including pollution factors, salinity, ph, temperature and the like.

Students in the Biology class participated in the Hennepin County Water Shed Project this year, which puts them in charge of monitoring a section of the Minnehaha Creek.

We had a Summit Meeting at the Science Museum of Minnesota where the students presented their data to the other participating schools. There were awards given out to teachers that have gotten their students involved and are continuing the mission of science out of doors in urban areas,- getting students involved in the care of their community. Our School was recognized. Biology teacher, Wendy Anderson received a Certificate of Appreciation, for engaging students in the monitoring of Minnehaha Creek. Students are eager to continue their work in the spring.

They will share more information in the spring with other students from participating schools throughout Hennepin County.
